GRAND FORKS, ND (August 9) - Brad Seng and the Anderson Brothers Body Shop/Valley Oral team only had one race on last weekend’s schedule, which brought them to River Cities Speedway on Friday night. Entering the night Brad was just seven points behind RCS point leader, Dustin Strand, in the chase for the 2016 track championship.
The evening began with Brad starting outside of the front row in his heat race with Mike Balcaen to his inside. As the green flew, the two veteran drivers raced door to door for the lead with Balcaen edging out Seng to lead the opening lap. On lap two, Balcaen cleared the Forks Freightliner #12S to take sole possession of the point. Seng followed Balcaen for the remainder of the heat and finished in the second spot. After starting the UpNorth Financial main event in eighth, Brad moved into the seventh position on lap three. He then followed the #9 of Steve Anderson for the next several circuits before maneuvering past his fellow Grand Forks, ND competitor. Now in sixth, Brad once again found himself behind Balcaen as he eyed his 17th consecutive top five finish. However, when the checkers flew, Brad remained behind Balcaen and picked up a sixth place finish. This weekend will feature three races in three nights for Brad, including two nights of NLRA racing. Brad currently sits atop the NLRA point standings with a 44 point advantage over Shane Edginton. He also sits 12th in the WISSOTA national points.
