GRAND FORKS, N.D. (July 6, 2017) – After having its first three events either postponed or cancelled due to rain, the Northern Late Model Racing Association officially got its 2017 season underway last Friday at River Cities Speedway.
With a complete show and a make-up feature from June 16th on the schedule, it would be a busy night for Brad Seng and the S&S Transport / MarsRaceCars.com team.

Seng began the night by picking up his second heat race win of the season, which put him third on the 26-car starting grid. Unfortunately, the first main event was plagued by several multi-car pileups, including a red flag period after Kevin Robertson rolled his No. 10R machine.

Seng got caught up in a melee on lap one, which resulted in severe damage to his No. 12S machine. The crew was not able to get repairs made in time to rejoin the field, as Seng suffered his first DNF of the season.

The second NLRA main event rolled off approximately 45 minutes later. The Valley Oral / Schill Construction crew was able to patch together their car for another 25 laps around The Bullring.

After starting ninth, Seng quickly began moving forward at the drop of the green flag.

The three-time and defending NLRA champion got by Brandon Fuller, Scott Bintz, and Joey Pederson before lap five, as he went to work on Shane Edginton and Zach Naastad.

Seng got by both Edginton and Naastad with 10 laps to go, which put him in the fourth position.

Seng wasn’t able to reel in Ricky Weiss for the third spot in the closing laps, as he was forced to settle with a fourth place finish. Still, it was a very solid result and a strong way to close out a potentially rough night.

Seng currently sits tied for 11th in NLRA points, 62 markers behind Dustin Strand.

Due to the incident during the first feature, Seng lost his River Cities Speedway points lead and now is ranked fourth, 20 points behind Dustin Strand.

Seng will be back in action tomorrow night at River Cities Speedway. Racing starts at 7pm!
