GRAND FORKS, ND (August 30, 2016) - Despite having a streak of top 10 finishes that extends back to June 11th, Brad Seng has seen a fairly comfortable lead in the NLRA point standings evaporate to what has now become a hotly contested race for the series championship.
Fellow Grand Forks driver, Dustin Strand has been on a tear as of late and has taken Seng’s point lead down to just 16 points with four NLRA dates left on the 2016 schedule.

Luck may be on Brad’s side this weekend, however, as the tour heads to Alexandria, MN for their annual double-header at the big half-mile of Viking Speedway. Brad has won races at the “High Flyin’ Half-Mile” each of the last two seasons, including two wins last season alone. Overall, Brad has four wins at Viking.

WEEKEND RECAP:

The racing weekend began Thursday night for the S&S Transport/Valley Oral team with an NLRA date north of the border at Red River Co-op Speedway in Winnipeg, MB.

Brad started seventh in his heat race and wheeled his way up to third, which put him in the seventh starting position once again for the feature. From there he battled his way to finish fifth after 25 trips around the four-tenths mile oval, scoring his 24th top five of the season.

Friday night brought the CMD Shocks/MB Customs #12S car back home to River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks as the NLRA Late Models co-headlined the night with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Cars.

Again Brad started dead last in seventh for his heat before climbing to a fourth place finish. That placed the winningest driver in NLRA series history 11th on the grid for the 25-lap main event. The freshly farmed high-banked three-tenths mile oval was super fast in the early going of the main event, but Brad was still able to scratch and claw his way forward. He raced his way up to eighth by the time the checkers flew.

SEASON STATS:
Races: 29
Wins: 4
Top Fives: 24
Top Tens: 27
Heat Wins: 15

Upcoming Events:
Sept. 2: River Cites Speedway
Sept. 3: Viking Speedway - NLRA
