GRAND FORKS, ND (April 22) – Last Friday night River Cities Speedway held a Test N Tune practice session to give drivers a chance to shake down their racing machines before the April 29th season opener. On a night that was supposed to be fairly relaxed and easy going, Brad Seng went out, got his elbows up, and became the fastest man to ever turn a lap around the 3/10th mile dirt oval. Brad turned a lap of 11.514 seconds, averaging 93.978mph which broke a six year old record of 11.756 seconds set by World of Outlaws Late Model driver, Rick Eckert, on July 10th, 2009. What makes Seng’s lap time more impressive is the fact that he set the track record while running his WISSOTA spec engine, unlike Eckert who held the previous track record by racing a more powerful, unrestricted open motor. This Friday night we’ll see if Brad’s blazing speed can translate into solid race results as he takes on the legendary Grand Forks bullring.
