By Mike Spieker GRAND FORKS, ND (July 11) - Last Friday night the Brad Seng Racing team unloaded the Fargo/Forks Freightliner #12S for the 16th time this season at River Cities Speedway. Entering the night, Brad was tied atop the track point standings with defending title winner, Dustin Strand. A less than ideal draw put Brad eighth on the starting grid for heat race number two. At the completion of the eight lap affair, Brad had worked his way up to finish fifth.
That put the Valley Oral/Mars Race Cars machine in the eighth spot for the 20-lap night cap at the three-tenths mile bullring. After getting by Joey Pederson on the opening lap, Brad rode in the tracks of Bill Mooney and Mike Balcaen. By lap four, Seng had already cracked the top five as he got by Mooney and the #9 of Steve Anderson. A resurgent Pederson relegated Seng back to fifth, but the three-time RCS track champion quickly regained the fourth position with a pass on Zach Naastad. Seng then battled with Brandon Fuller, Naastad, and Strand in the closing laps and took the checkers in the fourth position. Brad currently sits second in the River Cities Speedway Late Model points, a mere three markers behind Strand. Up next for Brad Seng Racing will be a tentative date at Red River Co-op Speedway in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Thursday, July 14th. On Friday night, the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series will invade River Cities Speedway for their annual visit to Grand Forks. Last year Brad finished second in the Last Chance Showdown before charging through the field to finish in the ninth position.
