GRAND FORKS, N.D. (June 5, 2023) - Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S Schill Construction / Fargo Freightliner MB Custom, is officially riding on a hot streak. Following a runner-up performance at River Cities Speedway on Friday, Seng went on to win the Dick Johanneck Memorial King of the Dirt at I-94 emr Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN on Saturday night. During the first of two Northern Late Model Racing Association events last weekend, Seng kicked off his Friday night at River Cities by climbing from fourth to second in his heat race, putting him in the feature redraw. After pulling the three pill, Seng rolled off on the inside of the second row for the 25-lap main event.
Seng became a contender from the word go, as he joined front row starters Mike Greseth and Lance Schill in the battle for the top spot. Just before the halfway point Seng made his move in lapped traffic, taking the lead on lap 12. Following a caution that slowed the pace and cleared the air for Schill, who had taken the lead back, Seng remained within striking distance for the duration, finishing second. On Saturday, Seng and the rest of the series traveled south to I-94 emr Speedway for the annual running of the Dick Johanneck Memorial King of the Dirt. Upon completion of another runner-up finish in his heat race, Seng was once again slated to start on the inside of the second row. After passing Brody Troftgruben for second on lap three, Seng began to reel in race leader Ryan Mikkelson while running the bottom of the three-eighths mile oval. Seng took the lead on lap seven, and led through a lap 13 caution, and went unchallenged and unfazed, even when he eventually reached lapped traffic with two laps left. Seng continued on for his first victory of the season, which is also his 44th series win. "The car's been really good lately," Seng said in victory lane. "The results haven't shown it, but I know we have a capable piece." After he thanked track owner Don Shaw, his family, employees, and the fans for coming out, Seng continued, "I've never won this race. I don't think I've ever won in Fergus Falls. But this is a good one to check off the list." This Friday, Seng returns to River Cities hoping to parlay this momentum into his first win of the season at the Bullring. 2023 Stats: Races: 5 Wins: 1 Top 5’s: 2 Top 10’s: 4
