GRAND FORKS, N.D. (July 31, 2023) - Brad Seng completed the month of July scoring three more top five finishes in NLRA competition behind the wheel of the No. 12S S&S Transport / Fargo Freightliner MB Custom while also stretching a personal top five streak with the series to five races, improving to the runner-up spot in the series season long standings. The first stop of the final three races of the month started with the series' second and final visit of 2023 to Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN. Following a second-place finish in the heat race, Seng lined up on the outside of the third row in the first 25-lap feature of the weekend.
Seng moved into the top five on the opening lap and proceeded to take fourth from Amelia Eisenchenk on the third trip around the three-eighths mile oval. Dustin Strand took fourth the following lap, however, as the nose of the 12S pushed across turn four. Seng remained well within the top five throughout the remainder of the race which went green-to-checkered, finishing in the fifth spot. After charging from fifth to second in his heat race Friday night at River Cities, Seng joined Dustin Strand on the front row of the second 25-lapper of the three-race stretch. Seng led off the bottom of turn two at the start but completed the lap second to Strand. Seng nosed ahead again on the exit of the second turn but followed Strand to the start / finish line for the second consecutive lap. A lap six caution saw Mike Greseth capitalize, moving into second as Seng went on to hold off Tyler Peterson for the final podium spot. A caution just before the midway point saw Seng continue to run third upon the resumption of the race, holding off a hard charging Tyler Peterson. The closing laps saw the leaders in thick lapped traffic allowing Peterson and Brody Troftgruben to make passes, though Seng completed the night with a fourth-place finish. Another trip north to Greenbush Race Park completed the weekend with Seng moving from sixth to third in his heat race. Starting outside of row four in the final 25-lap main event of the three-race set. The second and final feature race caution of the weekend saw Seng improve three spots, going from seventh to fourth as the race resumed. Late in the race, Seng chased down Brody Troftgruben and stole third in the closing laps as Troftgruben did one night prior. Seng finished third, finishing inside the top five with the series for the fifth straight event. 2023 Stats: Races: 20 Wins: 2 Top 5’s: 13 Top 10’s: 15
